How to Find the Model Number for Magic Chef Uniburners

The dual-burner assemblies or "uniburners" in certain models of Magic Chef gas range/ovens, sometimes referred to as Magic Chef Uniburner ovens, are all-in-one, removable burner units rather than individual burners. Replacement of uniburner assemblies or parts/components such as burner caps, flash tubes or assembly pans requires a model number of the oven in combination with the series and serial numbers (if available) to narrow down the specific part by production year and design. To find the model and/or other numbers, locate the metal or paper label attached to your Magic Chef oven. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pull out the oven's storage/broiler drawer and look for a vertical or horizontal metal or paper label on the front of the frame. The numeric or alphanumeric model number should have the text "MODEL NO." typed beneath it. If you can't find the label in this location, close the drawer and go to Step 2.

    • 2

Open the oven door and check the upper-left corner of the oven frame and on the jamb where the door connects to the oven on the left side above or between the hinges. Look for the label. If it is not there, try Step 3.

    • 3

Lift the cook top, if you have a Magic Chef Uniburner oven that features this option, and check under the burners. Refer to your Magic Chef Uniburner owner's manual for instructions on lifting the cook top for your specific model, if applicable.

    • 4

Look inside the top of the vent if you have Magic Chef Uniburner with a vent duct, typically known as a "downdraft" model.

    • 5

Check the burner box on the right side, under the fuse cover or the bottom outside of the cabinet.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your range has a torn or worn label with only a partial print of the beginning of the oven's model number, don't worry. Many appliance parts sales stores can match partial model numbers against inventory.

  • If you can't find the label or you have only the end portion of the model number, contact Magic Chef Customer Service (see Resources) for assistance in determining the model number for your oven and/or uniburner parts.

  • Always write down the series and serial numbers if you're trying to find replacement parts for your Magic Chef Uniburner gas range because these numbers dictate changes made within a model series. This information helps an appliance parts salesperson to locate the uniburner part needed for your specific oven.
