How to Install Mozilla Firefox on an External Hard Drive

Mozilla Firefox is an open source web browser. If you routinely use multiple computers and want a way to easily carry around your Firefox browser from computer to computer, you can do so by installing it on an external hard drive. This process is made easy by a portable version of Firefox designed for exactly this purpose.

Instructions

1. Download the Firefox Portable application from the link in the References section of this article. When the download completes, move the EXE installation file to your external hard drive.

2. Begin the Firefox Portable installation process by double-clicking on the EXE installation file you downloaded.

3. Select the external hard drive as the location to install Firefox Portable and wait for the installation process to finish. Once the process finishes, you can remove the external hard drive, plug it in to a different computer and launch Firefox by browsing to and double-clicking on the application file on the external hard drive.
