How to Use the Sextant in Runescape
In "RuneScape" there is a coordinate system that covers all of the outdoor areas of the map, like the latitude and longitude measurements in the real world. Coordinates are measured in degrees and minutes, and the center of the coordinate system is the Observatory north of Castle Wars. The sextant is used in conjunction with a chart and a watch to determine your current coordinates.

Click on the sextant in your inventory to open the sextant interface. You will be looking through the sextant at the horizon.
-
6
Use the arrow buttons at the bottom to move left and right and the buttons on the side to move up and down. Move the sextant until the sun and the horizon are aligned and centered.
-
7
Click on the "Get location" button to receive a message with your current coordinates. You will always get two sets of coordinates: One will be labeled north or south and the other will be labeled east or west. The farther you go in a particular direction the higher your degrees and minutes will be in your coordinates.
