-
5
Perform a disk cleanup. Your computer's disk cleanup is found under the system tools menu. Regularly performing a disk cleanup will increase the overall performance of your computer.

Create a path between your router and computer that is unobstructed. The more physical items in the path, the weaker your signal will be. A weak signal causes your Internet speed to become slower. It is best to place your wireless router in a central location that has a clear sight line to your computer. You want also want to keep the area near the path clear of stone, metal and other materials that can degrade your wireless signal.
-
8
Reduce interference with your wireless router's signal. Common household items such as microwaves, wireless phones and baby monitors can interfere with your router's signal.
-
9
Upgrade your WiFi antenna with a more powerful one. Most wireless base stations allow you the option to remove and replace the antennae. Upgrading to a better antenna can improve the strength of your wireless signal.
