How to Reset My RCA Satellite Receiver

RCA satellite receivers are used to decode encrypted satellite signals from service providers such as DirecTV. During normal operation of your receiver, you may find that the screen freezes or goes blank, which is caused by an error in the satellite receiver. In order to return the receiver to normal working order so you can watch television, you need to reset the RCA satellite receiver.

Things You'll Need

• RCA satellite receiver
• Television

Instructions

1. Press and hold the "Power" button on the satellite receiver for approximately five seconds. This should return the unit to working order.

2. Unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet and let it sit for about two minutes. The satellite will discharge any built-up electrical charge and clear any errors in the system.

3. Plug the power cord back into the unit and restart the receiver. It should return to working order.
