How to Decorate a Strawberry Dessert
Strawberry desserts are especially popular during the spring and summer months. No matter what type of strawberry dessert you make, you want it to appeal to the eye as well as to the other senses. There are many different ways to decorate strawberry desserts and you can pick and choose what styles and decorations to use depending on your particular dessert and the type of serving dish it is in. Things You'll Need
- Heavy cream
- Mixer with a whisk attachment
- Strawberries
- Knife
- Sugar
- Hot fudge
- Flour
- Semisweet chocolate chips
- Double boiler
- Wax paper

Dot some whipped cream of top of the strawberry dessert. Spread it with a knife, if desired, or pipe on pretty whipped cream decorations using a piping bag and a cake decorator's tip. Use real whipped cream, as opposed to store bought, as it tastes much better and piped decorations made with homemade whipped cream hold up better. To make whipped cream, combine 2 cups heavy whipping cream with ¼ cup confectioner's sugar. Whip until stiff. Decorate as desired.

Give guests an idea of what is in your dessert by putting a few strawberries on top. Use whole berries or slice some and let them macerate in sugar to make a juice. Decorate the top of your dessert with the cut up berries and drizzle some of the juice around the top as well.Add the sliced berries and juice to your dessert just before serving for best results.

Drizzle chocolate sauce over your strawberry dessert, since chocolate and strawberries naturally go together. Use a jar of hot fudge from the store, heat it slightly and use a spoon to drizzle over the top. Do this just before serving, as with the strawberry juice, for best results.

Use thickened strawberry juice and make swirls on your strawberry dessert. Slice and macerate the strawberries as in Step 2. Pour the juice into a pan and add 1 tbsp. of flour for every cup of juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Allow the strawberry sauce to cool and then make strawberry swirls all over your dessert.

Dip some strawberries in melted chocolate. Melt semisweet chocolate chips in a double boiler. Dip washed strawberries in the chocolate and set on waxed paper until the chocolate hardens. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the strawberries to make them look pretty. Set these decorated strawberries on top of your dessert.
