How to Make a Homemade Mexican Costume
The hot dry climate of Mexico calls for light comfortable fabric with colors and patterns that reflect both the Spanish and Native American heritage. If you want to dress as a Mexican man or woman for Halloween or some other event, look for material and clothes that have bright colors and elaborate embroidery. You can shop online for authentic serapes, the long brightly colored shawl worn by Mexican men, and huipils, a scooped-necked blouse worn by Mexican women. But you also can create a costume using clothes from your closet or a thrift store
