How to Make a Wire Jewelry Jig
A wire jewelry jig is a tool used by jewelry artisans to create smooth and uniform wire loops and shapes. Wire jigs facilitate the creation of wire jewelry by enabling the jewelry maker to twist and wrap wire in a variety of designs. Whether you are an expert jewelry maker or you have recently taken up the craft, you should be able to make and use a wire jig with relative ease.

1
Place your jig template, which you can download online, on top of the block of wood. The template will ensure that your nails are evenly spaced.
-
2
Hammer the nails into the wood (through the paper template), in the desired configuration. If you would like the nails to be removable so you can adjust their layout and make a wider variety of designs hammer them only deep enough to stand securely in the wood. If you would like the nails to be in a permanent configuration, hammer them until they are set in the wood.

3
Tear away the paper template. Tear the paper away after all of your nails are positioned and hammered as desired. You can now discard of the paper template. Your wire jewelry jig is now complete and ready to be used.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful when placing the nails. The more accurately they line up, the more precise your wire work will be. Precision is important to smaller, more intricate wire designs. For larger or more basic designs, having perfectly aligned nails doesn't matter quite as much.
