How to Make Your Own Gummy Mix
As kids' treats go, gummy bears (and their ilk: gummy worms, gummy insects, you name it) are not a bad deal nutritionally. Yes, they're sugary, but they are also fat-free, and since kids love to play with them both by hand and by mouth, gummy bears tend to get eaten slowly and in moderate quantities. If you are the kind of parent who prefers to prepare food yourself rather than rely on store bought food, you might be surprised to find it's easy to make gummy bears and other gummy pals! And the other advantage to homemade is that you can make only the flavors you like! Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

Instructions
-

1
Spray plastic candy molds generously with cooking spray. Set molds aside.
-
2
Use a fork or small whisk to combine powdered Jell-O and gelatin in a saucepan. With a wooden spoon, stir in water. Don't worry if it isn't smooth.
-
-
3
Stir mixture constantly over medium heat with the wooden spoon until the powder is completely dissolved and you feel no more grit when you stir. Do not allow mixture to heat to a boil.
-
4
When the powder is completely dissolved, remove the pot from the heat and pour the mixture carefully into molds, being careful that the mixture does not overflow the molds.
-
5
Allow to cool completely (about a 1/2 hour in refrigerator or 1 hour at room temperature); then unmold and enjoy!
