How to Reconstitute Dehydrated Sliced Potatoes
Potatoes are a common go-to starch when it comes to meal time, especially since large bags of potatoes are often on sale. Although large amounts of potatoes may seem like a good idea, they may start to go bad before you have a chance to use them up. Dehydrated potato slices are a longer term solution. The product is made from boiled potato slices that are dried and packaged. They last for an extended period of time (even years) in your pantry and, if reconstituted correctly, have nearly the same flavor as fresh potatoes. Does this Spark an idea?

1

-
2
Set the stove temperature to high. Heat the water until it starts to boil vigorously.

3
Turn down the stove temperature to medium. Let the potato slices sit undisturbed for about 10 minutes so they can soften.
-
4
Poke a potato slice with a fork. If the fork slides cleanly into the potato, it is soft enough; if not, continue to heat the potato slices for another five to 10 minutes or until they are thoroughly softened.

Line a serving bowl or platter with paper towel. Remove the potato slices with a slotted spoon, and transfer them into the serving bowl or platter. Use the reconstituted potato slices in your preferred method.
