How to Move Pictures From a Flash Drive to a Computer

A flash drive is a small computer data storage device. By plugging the flash drive into a computer's USB port, you can save data, files and folders, then plug it into your computer to retrieve those items.
For example, you can upload pictures to your flash drive, take the drive home then download the pictures onto your own computer.

Instructions

Insert the flash drive into your computer's USB port. Look for a port with a picture depicting a tiny circle with three lines coming out of it (see picture in the "TurboSquid" link under Resources below). That's the USB port.

View the files. When anything is inserted into the USB port, it sends a signal to your computer. A notification message should automatically pop up asking you what you want the computer to do with the information it has just been sent. Click on "Open Folder to View Files."

Note: If you have a picture application on your computer (like Picasa or iPhoto) you may select that option from the notification message instead of "Open Folder to View Files."

If the notification message doesn't pop up, go to Windows Explorer and click on the drive letter that represents your flash drive (usually "E:"). Then copy the files to your hard drive by dragging and dropping them into a new or existing folder.
