How to Connect a Workgroup PC to a Domain Printer

A domain printer is a printer connected to a single computer which is part of a larger network. Connecting your workgroup PC to the printer will enable you to utilize it without having to leave your console, allowing you to print documents with relative ease. This is a basic procedure that you can complete in less than 20 minutes, regardless of whether your existing network is already configured properly.

Instructions

    • 1

Log on to the computer to which the printer is physically connected.

    • 2

Go to the "Start" menu, then the "Control Panel" and open the "Printers" tab.

    • 3

Right click on the printer's name and select the "Share" option.

    • 4

Check the box that says "Share this Device."

    • 5

Reboot both your workgroup PC and the PC attached to the domain printer. You will now be able to see the printer under the "Network" menu for the workgroup PC.
