How to Make Letters on a Macbook Bigger

The standard size of fonts on a MacBook is 12 point (pt). However, 12 pt font can look pretty small, and it can be difficult to read. You can increase the size of the font on a MacBook quite easily. This will help you use your MacBook to its full potential and give your eyes a break.

      Open the MacBook's hard drive.

      Click on the cog icon next to the three view icons at the top in the left hand corner of the window. Choose "Show View Options."

      Click on the "Text Size" menu and choose the size of text you would like the folders and files on your MacBook to be displayed in.

      Close the hard drive, but keep the "Show View Options" window open.

      Choose the size of font your want items on your desktop to be displayed in.

      Close the "Show View Options" by clicking on the red circle in the upper left hand corner.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can choose between the font sizes 10 pt to 16 pt.

  • If you need even larger font, try turning on Universal Access in the System Preferences menu.
