How to Construct a Miniature Pyramid
Miniature pyramids make great art or educational projects for students. They are easy to build in principle, but in practice they require attention to detail and persistence. The supplies needed for constructing a miniature pyramid can be purchased at any hobby or craft store. Building a miniature pyramid will take several hours to complete and dry.

1
Choose a piece of high-density particleboard to be the base for your miniature pyramid, and spray paint it brown or gold. The piece of particleboard needs to be at least 2 1/2 feet square to fit your pyramid. Alter the size of the board depending on how big your blocks are.
-
2
Separate 55 blocks into several piles. The base of your pyramid will consist of 25 blocks; the second tier, 16; the third tier, nine; and the fourth tier, four. You should have one remaining block to top off the pyramid.

3
Lay out the first layer of blocks in a 5 by 5 pattern. Fill in the center to create a sturdy base. Use a ruler to make sure that the edges are straight. Glue each block to the base with wood glue. Wipe away any excess glue.
-
4
Glue on the second layer of blocks on in a 4 by 4 pattern. Place the first set of blocks two thirds of the way in on the first layer to create the pyramid shape.
-
5
Apply the third layer; place the blocks in a 3 by 3 pattern. Attach the blocks using wood glue.
-
6
Glue the fourth layer on top of the third in a 2 by 2 pattern and, finally, the last block on top of that layer.
-
7
Allow the pyramid's glue to dry for 2 to 4 hours before spray painting the blocks gold. Leave the pyramid overnight to dry completely before it is moved or displayed.
