If you want to look like a water polo player - well, start to look like one - swim freestyle with your head up out of the water.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Swim freestyle. (See "How to Swim Freestyle.")
Step2
Arch your back, and lift your head high out of the water.
Step3
Take rapid, slightly shorter strokes than normal freestyle.
Step4
Breathe normally, and look around to be aware of your environment - that's why you're doing this, right?

Tips & Warnings

  • You can easily combine regular freestyle and head-high freestyle to balance speed and awareness.
  • This stroke is used most of the time in water polo.
  • If you have any condition that would impair or limit your ability to engage in physical activity, please consult a physician before attempting this activity.
