Instructions

    • 1

Choose a healthy, thriving jade plant from which to take your cuttings. Snap or cut off a stem just under a node, or just take a leaf. Make sure you have at least 2 inches of stem.

    • 2

Fill a plant pot with potting soil. Any kind will do, jade plants are not picky.

    • 3

Stick the leaf or cutting down into the soil. If you are rooting a leaf, set it at the side of the pot so that only the leaf part is visible above the soil. For a larger cutting, you must let it dry out completely before re-planting it. Once it has dried---in 1 to 2 weeks---place it at least 2 inches into the soil. If it falls over, strip off some leaves and plant it deeper.

    • 4

Water your jade with a spray bottle after 1 to 2 weeks have gone by, and then do so sparingly every few days. Jade requires very little water, but you do need to give it some.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plant cuttings in the same pot as your main plant for a much fuller look.

  • Do not over water jade, or it will get root rot.
