1
To begin your resume, start with a list of all the past jobs you had with the dates starting with the latest one you have. Don't leave out anything in your resume blank. Include jobs, accomplishments, awards, educational degrees, skills, personal projects and anything that would be impressive and eye catching to anyone.
-
2
Focus your list on what the position you are applying for. Weed out each item in your resume that are irrelevant to the position you are applying for. Whenever possible, list your experience in terms of accomplishments and achievements rather than concentrating and focusing on tasks and responsibilities. Make yourself a winner and show your success.

State Your Resume Objective. Keep this as short as possible and make it direct to the point, one or two sentences should be enough for your resume. Your objective must be personalized to the position you are applying for and ensure that it does not contradict the position you are applying for and defeat the purpose. Most employers will ignore or neglect an objective, so be straight forward and direct to the point.

Your next step to make a resume is to create the proper format. Your resume for work should have clean lines and be easy to read and understand. Make it two pages max, and only one page if you are a new graduate out of school. You probably have a lot to say about yourself in your work resume, don't worry, save all those during your interview. The font should be no less than 10 or no more than 12, the key to it is you should be able to read it well when you print it out. Black and white is best unless you're emphasizing your artistic or publishing skills. Keep the format neat and organized.

5
Do not forget to include an address, phone number and email address on your resume. Use a professional looking email and do not include an email that shows you shouldn't be taken seriously, such as lazysusan@email.com. If you can, get an extra email address with a professional name that you can use for job hunting.

6
Include a credible reference name on your resume. Make sure you put down someone that knows you. If it's possible put down a person you have worked with before. The best personal reference to write down are people that holds high positions at work, school, or community, but make sure they know your work habits and personal characteristics.

After you finished your work resume, don't forget to proofread your work. Have a friend or a family member proofread your resume as well. More eyes are better than one. Ask for their honest opinion and tell them that you are open for suggestions to improve your work resume.
