How to Delete Browser Cookies in Firefox

Browser cookies can be useful for automatically logging into web sites and for personalizing web pages. At times you may get cookies you don't want from sites tracking your browsing behavior or for targeting ads so you may want to delete them now and then. The instructions below are for Firefox 3.5.6.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch your Firefox browser.

    • 2

On the menu at the top of the browser, click on Tools and then Options.

    • 3

Click on the Privacy tab, then click the link for "remove individual cookies".

    • 4

Click on the button Remove All Cookies. You can also select specific cookies and just delete those by clicking on Remove Cookie. You may want to scroll through the list and delete only specific cookies. If you visit a site often and like that it automatically knows who you are, you may want to leave that site's cookie in place to retain this functionality.

    • 5

Click Close when done. If you removed all cookies, you will need to log in to your common sites again and they will set another cookie to re-enable automatic login.
