Alcohol withdrawal can be very dangerous for your body and in some cases deadly. If you are a heavy drinker I would recommend talk to your doctor to see what steps are safe for you to take first. It takes a lot of time and effort to be successful in quitting drinking, and requires a lot of will power.

First you must recognize, why do you drink? Is it because of friends, stress, or just a bad habit? You must know what leads you to drink and you need to change your lifestyle around and stay away from whatever leads you to drink. If your friends drink, id suggest to stay away from that group of friends and find some new ones who don't drink.

Start becoming more active. Go to the gym and play sports. Keeping your body in shape will give you that natural high and confident feeling that will replace the alcohol feeling. Also take Vitamins.

The amount of money you used to spend on alcohol, put it aside in a box. By the end of the month open the box and treat yourself with something you wanted to purchase. (except alcohol)
