Warm a fully cooked ham in the oven.

Spiral sliced hams leave out the added chore of cutting the hams. Warming a fully cooked, frozen ham requires defrosting the meat before heating. After thawing the ham, heat the meat to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. With the proper thawing and heating, you can consume your spiral ham without fear of food poisoning.

Step 1

Thaw a frozen spiral ham in the refrigerator for two to three days. Alternatively, place the ham in a large bowl filled with cold water to thaw. Thaw in the cold water from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the ham. Pat the ham dry with paper towels and set on a plate once thawed. Cook the ham immediately if thawing with cold water to avoid the risk of bacteria forming.
