How to Create a PDF in Access 2003

Microsoft Access 2003 is a relational database management program that is part of the Microsoft Office 2003 software suite. Access brings together a relational database engine, a graphical user interface, and software development utilities to simplify the creation and maintenance of databases in Windows. By installing Adobe Acrobat Professional, Access users will be able to quickly and easily print database reports in PDF format.

      Launch the Adobe Acrobat Professional installer. The install file for Acrobat Professional can be downloaded through adobe.com, or accessed through a CD when a physical copy of the software is purchased. If you downloaded the file, double-click it to launch the installer program. Insert the CD in your disc drive if you purchased a hard copy. It can take up to 10 minutes for the installer screen to appear on slower computers.

      Choose the language and enter your personal information. Select the language from the drop-down menu and click "OK." On the following screen, enter your name, the name of your organization, and your serial number. Click "Next."

      Select your install type. On the next screen, click the button selecting the first of the three Setup Type options. Click "Next."

      Choose the installation folder. The next screen shows where your Acrobat program will install. Accept the default location or select an alternate folder by clicking the "Change" button and following the resulting prompts. Click "Next" once satisfied with your folder choice.

      Start the installation process. Click "Install" on the following screen to begin the installation process. Installation may take up to 15 minutes, depending on your computer's speed.

      Close the installation guide. At the conclusion of the installation process you will see a message reading "Setup Completed." Click the "Finish" button on this screen.

      Print your Access file to PDF. Open the file you want to print in Access 2003. Click "File" in the menu near the top of your screen and select "Print." Locate the Printer Name drop-down menu and select the option labeled "Adobe PDF." Click "OK." A dialog box will pop up, asking you where you want to save the PDF file. Choose a location and click the "Save" button to create your PDF.
