How to Preserve Caulk
The easiest method for installing caulk is using a caulk gun that squeezes caulk out of caulk tubes using a trigger release. The caulk tubes are all standard size to fit any caulk gun regardless of what type of caulk you are using. If you have a small caulk job and use only a small portion of the caulk, you will want to preserve the caulk for later use on another project. Because most caulk dries when exposed to air, you need to seal the caulk tube before storing. Does this Spark an idea?
