How to Contact the FHA

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is a federal agency that provides mortgage insurance on mortgages given by FHA-approved lenders. The agency is part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. If you have a question about your FHA-approved mortgage or if you simply want more information about the FHA, there are several ways to contact the FHA.

Instructions

1. You can email questions and concerns to [e-mail]. The convenience is you can do it any day of the week, any hour of the day.

2. To reach the FHA by phone, call (800) CALL-FHA or [phone]. The call is toll free; however, the FHA is only available by phone from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday.

3. If you are more of a traditionalist and like writing letters, send a letter with proper postage to:

   U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
   451 SW Seventh St.
   Washington, DC, 20410.

   Note that this form of communication will take the longest time to reach the FHA.

4. Call the Federal Government-National Contact Center. If you are unsure about using the previous steps to contact the FHA or if you simply want answers to your questions about the federal government and consumer issues, call (800) FED-INFO or [phone].
