How to Tune to Drop C Tuning on an Electric Guitar
"Drop C" tuning for an electric guitar (or for an acoustic) is a type of alternative tuning for the instrument. The drop C tuning is very similar to the commonly used drop D tuning. The drop C tuning gets its name from the bass string, which is dropped from the standard E to a C.
Instructions

1
Play the sixth string of your guitar, which is the string closest to your head. This also is the lowest string in pitch.
-
2
Watch the electronic tuner. If your guitar was in standard tuning, the tuner probably will read E.
-
-
3
Loosen the tuning peg that corresponds with the sixth string until the pitch drops to a C. You should be able to see this on your tuner.
-
4
Loosen the tuning peg for the fifth string until the tuner shows that you are playing a G.
-
5
Loosen the tuning peg for the fourth string until the tuner shows that you are playing a C.
-
6
Loosen the tuning peg for the third string until the tuner shows that you are playing an F.
-
7
Loosen the tuning peg for the second string until the tuner shows that you are playing an A.
-
