How to Clean Leather Moccasins
Moccasins were invented by American Indians, and while the design varied from tribe to tribe, the overall construction was the same: leather sewn together by sinew. They wore moccasins out of necessity, to protect their feet, not as the fashion statement they are today. Things You'll Need
- Nylon brush
- Leather cleaner or saddle soap
- Sponge
- Leather conditioner
- Soft dry cloth

Brush away loose dirt and debris with a nylon brush.

Rub leather cleaner or saddle soap onto your sponge. In gentle circular motions, wipe the sponge around the surface area of your moccasins.

Wipe a dry cloth across the moccasins, removing dirt, grime and the soapy residue. Repeat steps two and three if your moccasins are very soiled.

Dab a quarter-sized amount of leather conditioner onto a paper towel or dry cloth. Rub against the moccasins, making sure the leather absorbs all of the conditioner.

Tips & Warnings
Verify that your moccasins are warm before your clean them.
In step two, if you're using saddle soap, make sure you work up a good lather with the soap and your sponge before you rub the moccasins.
Waterproof your moccasins if you're going to wear them outside.
