Instructions

    • 1

Cut the wax paper into pieces that cover the entire baking sheet. Cover each baking sheet.

    • 2

Cover your hands with rubber or plastic gloves. This will keep the oils and dyes from seeping into your skin when you handle it.

    • 3

Dump the bath salts into the bottom of the baking sheets. Spread the salts around the sheet making a single layer on the pan. Crunch up the salt lumps until your damp salts make a flat sheet.

    • 4

Lay the sheets flat on a counter or a table and let them sit for four to six hours.

    • 5

Check on the salts after four to six hours. If the salts are still damp, use your gloved hands to move the salts around on the wax paper. Pat them back down into a single sheet and let the sit for four more hours.

    • 6

Store the dried salts in glass storage containers. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat. Keep the lids on the salts until you are ready to package them or use them.

    • 7

Throw away the used wax paper and wash your pans well.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you find your salts are still damp after the allotted time, then make a note to adjust future recipes.

  • Blow an oscillating fan around the room where the salts are drying. This will move the fragrance around and help to dry the salts faster.
