How to Open a Tab Group From Favorites

Tab groups can be an essential tool if you are utilizing the same sites on a consistent basis. A tab group is several tabs inside a single Internet Explorer window. Each of these tabs can have a different Internet site that the user can access. This helps to save the user space by not having several windows up at the same time. Once you have created a tab group there are a couple of different ways to manage it.

      Select the "Open in Tab group" option. All of the sites within the folder will open into their own tab window.

  • You can also add a tab group to your favorites. If you have several tabs open in the same window and would like to add them all to your favorites in a single folder, do the following:

  • Click on the "Add to Favorites" button located to the right of the Favorites Center button.

  • Select the "Add Tab Group to Favorites..." option. A Favorites Center mini window will open.

  • Type the name of the tab group in the Tab Group Name: text box.

  • Select the folder you want place your new tab group into through the Create in: drop-down box.

  • Click the "Add" button.

  • It is also possible to restore the last tab group you looked at. If you have several tabs open while you are working on a project and have to log off your computer; you will want to save the tabs you have visited. The tip above explains how to save the tabs as a tab group to your favorites. You can also make the tab group automatically appear the next time you open Internet Explorer.

  • Close the Internet Explorer browser. A pop-window will appear and ask, "Do you want to close all tabs?"

  • Click the "Show Options" drop-down arrow.

  • Check the "Open these the next time I use Internet Explorer" checkbox.

  • Click the "Close Tabs" button. The next time you open Internet Explorer the same sites will load just as before you closed it.
