How to Convert a BUP File to a MOV File

BUP (Back UP) is a file extension for files on a DVD or a camcorder. These files cannot be played in media players or other portable devices like normal video files. So it is necessary to convert these BUP format files to other formats like MOV before playing it in media players. Once the files are converted to MOV format it can be played using QuickTime player in your computer. MOV files can also be played in mobile phones and other portable players.

Instructions

1. Download "Prism Video Converter" software from nchsoftware.com. Install by using default settings. Launch "Prism Video Converter" by double clicking its icon on the desktop.

2. Click "Add File(s)" button and add the BUP files that needs to be converted to MOV format. Once done, click the "OK" button. To add an entire folder use the "Add Folder" button.

3. Navigate to "Output Folder" settings and set the destination location for the converted MOV format files by clicking the "Browse" button. After setting the output location, click the "OK" button.

4. Navigate to "Output Format" settings and set the output format to "MOV." The output format setting indicates the format in which the video will be converted.

5. Click the "Convert" button to convert the videos from "BUP" format to "MOV" format. The conversion process may take a few minutes depending on the number of videos converted and the size of each video.

6. Once the conversion is successful, navigate to the destination directory specified in Step 3 to find the converted videos. Launch a video and verify whether the video was converted properly. Close "Prism Video Converter."
