How to Disable Facebook on a Computer

Facebook is a popular social networking site on the web. You can communicate and keep in touch with your friends and family through the site. You can also waste a lot of time on the site and be less productive than you want to be. Parents may also not want their kids to be on Facebook. It takes about two minutes to disable Facebook on your computer.

  Close all applications and browsers.

  Hit your "Start" button, then scroll up and hit "Run."

  Type "notepad c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" in the "Run" field.

  Go down to the last line of the file and click enter on your keyboard. Type "127.0.0.1 facebook.com" and click the "X" on the top left of the dialog box and click "Save" when prompted.
