How to Replace a Keyless Remote for a Ford Truck

Reputed as some of the most trusted vehicles in the automobile industry, Ford trucks are known for their toughness and dependability. In addition to being "Built Ford Tough," the trucks features many of Ford's modern technological developments, including the keyless entry system. While the trucks are not easy to replace, these keyless remote systems can be replaced easily if lost or broken. To replace one, simply buy more remotes from the dealership or from an automotive parts store, and follow these simple programming instructions.

      Insert a key into the ignition of your Ford truck.

      Turn the key three clicks to the right to the "On" position and then quickly back one to the "Off" position.

      Repeat Step 2 seven times in quick succession, for a total of eight cycles. End the eight cycle back on the "On" position. Wait for the locks to cycle to signify the programming sequence has begun.

      Press any button on your keyless remote to program it to the transmitter. Wait for the locks to respond, and then press a button on any other remote you wish to program. Each remote must be programmed within 20 seconds of completing Step 3.

      Turn the ignition back to the "Off" position to close the programming sequence, and you will be free to use your replacement remotes.
