How to Fit Speakers in a Helmet
Speakers mounted in a helmet can add a new level to your rides, including enabling communication between rider and passenger and providing the opportunity to pass the time listening to music. There are many speaker systems available to fit within the many different styles of helmets, ranging from simple headphone-type speakers to blue-toothed enabled communication units. The biggest factor in selecting a helmet-mounted speaker system is making sure that it will fit comfortably over a long period of time.

1
Lay a towel onto a clean table and place your helmet upside down on top of it. This will allow easier access to the helmet's ear pockets.
-
2
Test fit a speaker into the ear pocket. The speaker should fit within the pocket while still leaving room for your ears when the helmet is worn. Look for channels within the helmet lining for the speaker's cable to be concealed in. Hiding the wiring under the cheek pad is an ideal location since the pad is removable and is adjacent to the ear pocket.

3
Remove the speaker and place a strip of velcro onto the back of the speaker. Be sure that the rigid "hooked" face of the velcro is affixed to the speaker, leaving the softer "looped" face to be attached to the helmet. This will maximize the comfort of the helmet should you choose to remove the speakers.
-
4
Remove the protective backing from the looped end of the velcro strip and press the speaker into the ear pocket. Hold the speaker in place and maintain pressure for at least 15 seconds.
-
5
Route the speaker's wiring into the helmet and repeat on the opposite speaker.

Tips & Warnings
Concealing the speaker's wiring is not a requirement, but it will make taking the helmet on and off easier without having to deal with a tangle of wires.
If the speakers create discomfort, reposition them in the ear pockets until you have found a suitable position.
