1
Flatten three beer boxes. Carefully undo all seams and place the boxes on a flat surface. Use your hand to smooth out any uneven spots.
-
2
Use a shoelace to measure your head. Loosely wrap it around the widest part of your head and use your thumb and index finger to hold the shoelace where it meets to mark the spot.

Place the first box in front of you on a flat surface. The cardboard side should be facing up. Place the shoelace in a circle in the center of the box. Trace the string with a pencil. Use a pair of scissors to cut out the circle. This will be the top of the hat.

4
Place the second box in front of you with the cardboard facing up. Place the top of the hat in the middle of the second box. Use a pencil to trace around the top.

5
Use a compass to draw a circle on the second box. Place the point of the compass in the center of the circle. Extend the leg three inches past the edge of the circle. Rotate the compass to draw a larger circle around the traced circle. Use a pair of scissors to cut out the large circle. Carefully cut and remove the inner circle. The remaining piece will be the brim of your beer box hat.

6
Place the third box in front of you. Use a tape measure to measure strips that are four inches in length and six inches wide. These strips will be used to connect the top of your hat to the brim. Keep cutting strips until you have enough to cover the entire area. The number of strips needed will vary with the size of the hat.

7
Connect the brim to the top of the hat. Fold one inch of the strip over the top of the hat. Use a stapler to secure it. Fold the bottom inch of the strip underneath the brim and staple. Repeat until you have strips around the entire brim. Your hat is now ready to be worn.
