How to Color Premixed Grout
Colored grout adds flair to any building or art project. Using colored grout will give mosaic patterns, such as on a tabletop, an added boost of visual interest. Or consider using colored grout when laying tile to promote a room's color scheme. Grout is available in a wide variety of colors at your local hardware or home supply store. Transfer the white premixed grout to a container, such as a bucket, that will allow you to stir it without it spilling over the edges.

Choose a dye made specifically for grout from your local hardware store. These are usually in powder form and are available in a wide array of colors.

Spoon about 1/4 tsp. of dye powder into the premixed grout. Mix with a paint stir stick until blended. Because the white will lighten the dye considerably, continue adding dye in 1/4-tsp. measurements, then blending with the stir stick to reach the desired color.

Use immediately or place in a sealed container until needed.

Tips & Warnings
Do not use a premixed grout in any color other than pure white. Even other shades of white may take on a yellowish appearance and alter the color of the acrylic paint.
