Clean out your pipes with a power auger. You can rent one from most hardware stores. Introduce it into the sewer line through a main clean-out. The auger end literally grinds away all tree roots and clears the pipe, allowing a free flowing drain.

Call in a professional plumbing service. They will use either a plumbing auger or a high-pressure jet of water with head attachments commonly called a Hydrojetter. This method removes roots and all debris with a highly pressurized jet of water that spins the cutting head attachments at up to 50,000 rpm to completely clear any root growth from a sewer line.

Add in copper sulfate crystals in the commercial form called RootX. This substance is available at hardware stores and puts down a barrier of copper sulfate around the pipe system. A RootX application will not allow roots to grow in the vicinity of the sewer pipe and will prevent them from invasive clogging in the future. It works best after the pipes have been cleaned to prevent any new root growth.
