How to Use Microsoft Outlook With Smarter Mail
Your Smarter Mail email provided by AkAlt is accessible through an Internet navigation panel or through an email application like Microsoft Outlook. If you want the ability to manage your mail along with your contacts and calendar, Microsoft Outlook is an option for your domain account. The Add Account wizard in Microsoft Outlook makes it easy for you to configure the application to manage your Smarter Mail account.

Launch your Microsoft Outlook application. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Account Settings" to access the email account management panel.

Click the "New" button under the "Email" tab in your Account Settings dialog box. You will see the "Add New Email Account" window open. Click the radio button beside the option which lists POP3 and IMAP accounts, and then click the "Next" button.

Enter your name in the field labeled "Your Name" as you would like it to appear when you send an email. Enter your Smarter Mail email address in the "Email Address" field. Type your email account password in the two password fields. Click the check box to manually configure your server settings, and click the "Next" button.

Click the radio button beside the "Internet Email" option and click the "Next" button to configure the account. Set the "Account Type" drop down menu to "POP3." Enter mail.xxx.com in both the incoming and outgoing server boxes. Replace "xxx" with the name of your domain.

Enter your full email address as your account user name and your email account password in the password field. Click the check box to remember the password to save having to enter it every time you check your email.

Click the "More Settings" button and then click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Click the check box beside the setting for your mail server to require authentication. Click the radio button beside the option to use the same settings as your incoming server. Click "OK" to save the configuration settings. Click "Next" to complete the account setup and then "Finish" to close the window.
