"Liquid Plumr" is a brand of drain cleaners. They have several different products, depending on the severity of the problem in your drain. The "Professional Strength Liquid Plumr," which comes in both gel and foam form, is best used when a sink is not draining at all. The regular-strength version is better suited for unclogging drains that are draining, but very slowly. Finally, the "Liquid Plumr Power Jet" product is best used if you need results quickly.

Step 2

Allow the product to dissolve the clog. In the case of stopped drains, wait until the drain is clear. If there is standing water, wait until the water has cleared. In other cases, wait for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Flush the drain with hot water.

Tip

Some clogs may require more than one treatment.

For general maintenance of drains, slowly pour 1 cup of "Liquid Plumr Drain Cleaner" down drains once or twice a month.

Warning

Do not mix drain cleaner with other chemicals, such as ammonia. This may cause harmful gases or chemical reactions.
