How to Get Powerpoint to Read a GIF
Microsoft PowerPoint is used to create slideshow presentations, but it is not an image editor. You cannot open a Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) file as you would other PowerPoint files---through the file menu. You can, however, get PowerPoint to read the file by inserting it on your page as an image. As with other image files, you can resize or crop a GIF and add borders to it within PowerPoint, but you cannot edit/change the image itself.
