How to Bracket With a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC
Photographers encounter several types of problems when taking pictures. One problem that occurs is the inability to determine the exposure to set for the camera on certain subjects. Sony Cyber-Shot DSC cameras have a bracketing option, which takes three shots of the subject in rapid succession. Each shot is taken at a different exposure, allowing the photographer to choose the best exposure for the shot.
Instructions

1
Turn the camera on, and select any shooting mode other than "Auto" or "Movie." The bracketing feature does not work with "Auto" or "Movie" mode.
-
2
Press on the "BRK" button to the right of the shutter button, so "BRK" appears on the screen. The camera is now in bracketing mode. When shooting in bracketing mode, the camera's flash does not operate.

3
Point the camera at the subject of the photograph, and press on the shutter button halfway. When pressed halfway, the camera automatically focuses.
-
4
Hold the shutter button down fully to take three pictures of the subject. Each picture is taken at a different exposure.
-
5
Use the navigation buttons to scroll through the three images. Choose the one you want to save by highlighting it in the LCD screen and pressing on the center "Select" button.

Tips & Warnings
You may find that none of the pictures are good enough to save. This generally occurs when the subject is too bright or too dark. Move the subject to a different location, and try to take the picture again.

This is really useful for HDR image processing too, though it only allows a +/- 1EV bracket.
