How to Dye the Underside of Your Hair Dark

Coloring the layer of your hair underneath the top layer is one trendy way to achieve a two-tone style. A two-tone look can provide a fun and stylish way to change your appearance. You can get a two-tone look either by dyeing two sections of your hair individually or by dyeing one section and leaving the other section your natural hair color.

Things You'll Need

• Hair clip
• Plastic cap or plastic wrap
• Hair dye
• Timer

Instructions

1. Section your hair into two parts by parting your hair horizontally and clipping your top hair section securely.

2. Cover your hair's sectioned top half with a plastic cap or plastic wrap to protect it from the hair dye.

3. Apply the hair dye to the bottom half of your hair, following the instructions on the box of hair dye.

4. Set the timer and wait the specified amount of time.

5. Rinse your hair out thoroughly.

6. Remove the plastic wrap or plastic cap from your top section of hair.
