How to Find a Mover-Packer Job
Moving is a complex event. The packing of boxes, not knowing what to keep and what to release as well as all the legal documents and things that must be signed and canceled upon leaving can cause people to need assistance in having their items packed and moved. As a mover-packer, you will give your customers peace of mind because they have one less thing to worry about during the big day of moving.

1
Create a professional resume and cover letter. Even though being a mover and packer is a hands-on job, employers will still want to know what type of skills you have had in the past to assess your character. If you are not proficient in creating a resume, many websites will assist you in writing one.
-
2
Perform a job search on Craigslist.org. Craigslist is beneficial because local ads are placed. Search for jobs that are specifically looking for movers and respond by emailing your resume and cover letter.

3
Search for local moving companies you can apply to. Contact companies directly over the phone to see if they have any positions open, obtain their fax number or mailing address to mail in your resume and cover letter, or go to the locations and apply directly.
-
4
Register with online job boards. Visit sites such as Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com to locate companies looking for movers. You will be able to search by your desired location and also upload your resume and cover letter, which allows for a quicker application process. Also set up job alerts that will email you at specified times when new jobs are posted that are seeking movers or packers.

5
Visit your local Department of Labor office. It may have a job board, or one of the representatives may be able to give you a list of recent employers that are seeking mover/packers. You do not necessarily have to register at the Department of Labor to find work.
