How to Set up the Screensaver on Your Mac

It's called a screen saver because it helps ease the strain on your computer's monitor when it is idle for a long period of time; but it does so much more than that. It's a good way to show off your photos, and soothing images can help relax you during a tough day at work. Mac provides a number of screen saver options, and the ability to easily alternate between them.

Instructions

  1. Setting Up Your Screensaver

Click the Apple icon in the main tool bar at the top left of your screen, then select "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

    • 5

Choose the amount of time before the screen saver turns on with the bar at the bottom of the screen. Once you have entered all your information, close the window, and your settings will have been automatically saved.
