Currently, asphalt shingles are the most popular type of shingle used on residential roofs. They are relatively inexpensive, durable, and easy to install as a do-it-yourself project. Asphalt shingles come in two materials: fiberglass and organic. The way each of the shingles is made allows them to resist damage from the sun and from water. However, they don't last forever, and they eventually need to be repaired or replaced. Sometimes edges and corners of individual shingles will curl up. This repair is very simple—all it requires is gluing the shingle back to the roof.
Step 1
Buy materials. At any hardware or home improvement store, you'll be able to pick up roofing sealant or cement. Roofing cement comes in a caulking tube, ready for application, or in a tub. If the sealant or cement doesn't come with an applicator, you can use a caulking gun to apply it to the shingle.

Step 2
Glue. Dab the cement or sealant on the corner(s) of your shingle. Push the shingle down into place.
Step 3
Allow to dry. Place a heavy object, such as a brick, on top of the shingle to hold it in position during drying. After 24 hours, the sealant or cement will be dry. Remove the heavy object from the shingle.
