How to Use iChat on a Mac
Instant messaging allows you to stay in touch with your friends in real time. But there are so many instant messaging carriers that it can be difficult to utilize all of them at any given time. Enter, iChat, Apple's solution to instant messaging overload. iChat allows you to keep all of your instant messaging accounts in one place on your Mac, and organizes all of your instant communication.

Open iChat from your desktop dock. Its icon is a small blue speech bubble with a white video camera in it.

On the top menu bar, click "iChat," then select "Preferences..."

Click on "Accounts" in the "Preferences" window. The list of accounts you have connected to iChat will be listed on the left side of the window.

Click on the plus sign button in the bottom left corner of the page to add another account. In the prompt, select the service your account is with, then enter your user name and password, then click done. Close the "Preferences" window.

Click "iChat" from the top menu bar, then select "Accounts." Click on the user name you wish to log into. You can log into all of your accounts at the same time, if you wish.
