Want to attract birds to your yard? Try a new twist on an old trick.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Thread a large sewing needle with colored embroidery floss.

  2. Step 2

Soak a bag of unsalted, unshelled peanuts in warm water for 30 minutes. This will soften the shells so they don't break while you "sew" them.

  3. Step 3

Poke the needle through the middle of each shell, between the nuts.

  4. Step 4

Be sure to leave enough floss to make a loop at the end to tie your peanut string up in a tree.

Tips & Warnings
  • Peanuts attract a lot of squirrels and bugs, so you may want to hang them away from your house.
