How to Make Photo Notecards
Custom photo notecards can be used to visually market a business, show off a new grandchild, or share your favorite photographs when corresponding with family members or friends. The notecards can be made at home using a computer and printer. You can also use an online printer to make the cards for you on demand.

Create digital images. Take a picture with a digital camera or scan a photograph to create a digital image file. With either method, you will need an image that has a resolution of at least 300 DPI (dots per inch). A lesser DPI will result in lower-quality printed pictures.

Register as a free member on an online printer, such as Zazzle.com, Greetingcarduniverse.com, Shutterfly.com, or Snapfish.com. Visit the sites online and follow their registration instructions. As an alternative, you can download desktop publishing or greeting card software onto your computer, such as Print Shop, Microsoft Publisher, Greeting Card Studio, or Hallmark Card Studio.

Log onto your account on the website you chose. Open your publishing software program.

Follow the directions for how to create a photo notecard. Instructions will vary, depending on the printer or program that you use. You will be required to download or insert the image created in Step 1 during the process.

Order cards from the website or print the cards (if using software) on your home printer. Use paper especially for notecard printing. You can purchase it at an office supply store.
