How to Delete Songs From iTunes Windows
iTunes is one of the leading digital media player programs thanks to the enormous popularity of the iPod and its many related gadgets. Although it is designed by Apple, iTunes has supported Microsoft Windows computers since 2003. One of the most important operations in iTunes is adding and deleting songs. It's easy to fill up your hard drive with music these days, and every now and then you'll probably want to delete songs that you never listen to. Deleting songs from the Windows version of iTunes is very straightforward, even if you are brand new to the program.

Double click on the iTunes program icon on your desktop or click Start>All Programs>iTunes. The application should open, allowing you to view your iTunes library.

Decide which song or songs you want to delete and locate these files by browsing through your library. You can search for the file by writing the song name, artist name or album name in the search box in the top right corner of your library.

Click on individual songs or groups of songs that you want to remove from iTunes. There are three ways to remove songs once you've reached this point. Your first option is to simply hit the delete key when the song or group of songs is highlighted. Your second option is to right click on the file and select delete from the pop up menu. Finally, you can go click Edit>Delete to remove the file.

Wait for an iTunes warning to pop up that will ask you if you are sure you want to remove the file permanently. Click "Remove" if you are sure or "Cancel" if you are not.

iTunes will now ask you if you want to place the file in the recycle bin in addition to removing the files from the iTunes library. Click Yes if you are sure you want to remove the file permanently. Note that you will not be able to retrieve this file after emptying the recycle bin, so be sure you have the song backed up on a CD or other source if you want to add it to iTunes later on.

You can also use this method to delete entire playlists or albums.
To remove files and place them in the recycle bin automatically, select the song and click Shift+Delete.
