How to Recover Deleted Internet History on Vista

Windows Vista was introduced into all new Windows computers in 2007. Although the computers are equipped with better programs, you always run the risk of files or Internet history being accidentally deleted. Many computers delete Internet history automatically after a set date (you can change this setting through the Internet settings), or you may have gotten into the habit of deleting the history and/or files yourself. However, if the history has been deleted there is a way to restore it.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Start" button on Vista's desktop.

    • 2

      Click on "All Programs."

    • 3

Click on "Accessories" from the "All Programs" menu.

    • 4

      Click on "Disk Cleanup."

    • 5

Click on "My Files" then the "(C:)" file from the drop down box. You can also choose "All Files" if your computer has more than one user.

    • 6

Click on the "Temporary Internet Files and Downloaded Files" box to check the box. Then click "View Files."

    • 7

Click on every folder that appears within the Temporary Internet Files. These files will include all the websites, music, pictures, files, downloads and histories that have been viewed or downloaded. Click on the specific website history and click "Restore" to be able to view it.
