How to Get Rid of Unwanted Email Spam
Email spam often happens because you visit unsafe or unsecure websites and fill out information. Those sites take your information and sell it to advertising companies across the globe. Even some secure websites have been known to share your information, even though they claim that they won't. There are a few ways to handle the accumulation of spam emails.

1
Create two different email addresses. You can use one or more sites to do this. The first email account you create should be a professional email address. A professional email should be your name followed by @emailservice.com, for example: johnsmith@emailservice.com. The second email account you create should be designated for registering your information on websites, or when purchasing items online.

2
Do not open any email from addresses or people you do not recognize. Some spam emails have a monitoring system on them that shows when you open them, which invites them to send more emails to your account.

3
Download an email spy filter for your email. You will be able to enter contacts into the program and specific keywords to designate an email as spam. You can include keywords from the ever-so-popular spam emails that tell you how to increase your manhood, shrink parts of your body, diet programs, and other common spam emails in your account. Complimentary email accounts typically have these already installed in your email account.

4
Do not ever use your professional email address for anything online. Do not use it to register on websites or to pay for a purchase. Use your alternate email for things like this. Don't forget to check the email account daily.

5
Do not send forwarded emails out. Many times spam businesses will send out funny jokes and quips in order to phish for emails. Phishing is simply the virtual name for fishing. They throw out a line (the email) with bait on the end (the joke), and they reel in several fish (yours and your friends' email addresses).

Tips & Warnings
Remember to check both email accounts at least once a week. With your email addresses, any spam or suspicious emails can be moved into the spam folder by clicking the box next to the email and selecting ACTION(S), and MOVE TO SPAM. That way your inbox stays cleaned out of all spam email.
