How to Install a 32 Bit Application on Windows XP 64 Bit
The advantage of 64-bit operating systems is that they allow a user to utilize more physical RAM in the system, but they are potentially disadvantageous in that certain programs designed for 32-bit operating systems will not properly function in a 64-bit environment. This problem can be circumvented by using the Windows compatibility mode, which will allow the programs to function as though they are operating in a 32-bit environment.
