How to Use a Frame to Bead a Purse
Beaded purses are an elegant fashion accessory and a lovely way to show off beading skills. A frame-beaded purse is ideal as the metal frame can support the weight of the beading and various sizes are available. Small frame purses can be worn as necklaces, while larger ones can be used as evening bags. Create your beaded-purse fabric using a bead loom or beading stitch, then sew carefully into place to use a frame to bead a purse.

1
Trace your beaded purse frame onto paper. Create a pattern to bead a purse using this tracing. Shape the top of your pattern to match the inner edge of the purse frame. Create a straight or flared shape below the purse frame edge. Save your pattern to use when you cut the lining.

2
Use a bead loom or a beading stitch like peyote stitch to create beaded fabric in the shape you need for your purse frame. Allow a two- to three- bead border around the edges of your beaded purse pattern for stitching and seaming.

3
Sew the side and bottom seams of your beaded purse using a good quality beading thread and working with fine hand stitches.

4
Cut a lining for your beaded frame purse using your pattern. Hand or machine stitch three sides of your lining together with the printed or finished sides of the fabric facing one another, leaving a small opening in one side for turning.

5
Place the beaded purse with the outside or right side of the beaded pattern facing you into the inside-out lining of the beaded purse. Sew the top edge of the beaded purse and purse lining together. Turn the bead purse right side out through the opening in the lining. Hand stitch the opening closed.

6
Line the beaded purse up with the purse frame. Hand stitch the finished top edge of the purse to the beaded purse frame through the small holes in the purse frame.
